Ral Partha Europe Dwarf Kickstarter

I'm not a huge Kickstarter junkie, but sometimes the company adds to the allure of the project, in this case Ral Partha Europe.

Being a "generic rules with no fixed miniatures" fan Ral Partha figures feature quite heavily in my collection (and wish lists). So their small Kickstarter to create a warbands worth of new Dwarves would always take a bit of ignoring. Well I failed! On the upside I failed so quickly I managed an early bird pledge level!

The campaign was funded in the first day and with early enthusiasm the rewards are being unlocked shortly after they are conceived. The campaign section of the KS has comparison pictures and the sculpts so far look like they will fit in with my (unpainted) old school dwarves, so this will hopeful see way to paint being applied (I'd stayed away from painting Dwarves with my buddy MacSver fielding them.)

I look forward to seeing how this progresses....

IHMN#5: A Stroll in the Park

The Professor's enjoyed standing on the upper platform he'd built on his house. It afforded him not only a workspace above the smog, but also a lovely view across the park. Sometimes he would just sit up there and people watch. A couple of pugilists training in one section. A gentleman walking a lady next to the fountain. Oh look a group lead by Lord Curr, bang on time. But what's that group of soldiers doing on the other side of the park. Gadzooks, is that Her Majesty out front?!

ASoBH: The Dwarves Have Been Shopping.

With Ganesha Games Hammer and Forge Kickstarter now rolling out it's pledges it was inevitable that a game of Advanced Song of Blades and Heroes was to be played. The main rulebook is out now and the Dwarven supplement, "Hammer and Forge" will be on general release in Feb (maybe already?), but sent out to KS backers.

I appear to have mentioned Hammer and Forge without adding "Long Awaited" before it, as MacSver has been eagerly and impatiently (to put it lightly) waiting it to come out for years! But he has it now and can run wild furnishing his collection with all manner of figure appropriate whimsies.

Peter Cushing - Wargamer

I'm sure some of you have seen this before, but it was new to me and so I couldn't not share it here (even if it's just for myself to re-visit every now and again). The legend Peter Cushing indulging in his hobby. I doubt I'll see anything better for quite a while!

WIP Wednesday

Work at the moment is to bulk out the Pacific forces for Wings of War. The F-Toys Zero and Ki-100 come together pretty quickly. They are pre painted click fit kits (I still use glue) and once together just have a few decals to be added, a magnet glued on and a coat of Matt Varnish to see them completed.

Ready for a coat of primer next to them are the reinforcements for my US forces. A P-40 Warhawk and a P-39 Aircobra - both from the Revell Micro Wings range. Aside from a second Dauntless (which is in the post) this will complete Pacific air war forces.

Dragon Rampant Taster

Not being a Historical gamer or massed army gamer I had been ignoring MacSver's odd subtle hint about Lion Rampant (and I can assure you some of his subtle hints can be very odd!). However, when he bought the new fantasy version he got my ear slightly. When I started to read the odd bit about how the force sizes were variable I became more interested. And when I showed him by small already painted medieval army that had been bought years ago from ebay and he told me I had enough for a game, well you can see what happened.
